Sensex down 10pts; Hindalco surges 3%

The Sensex is now down 10 points at 18,747.

Hindalco has surged nearly 3% to Rs 213.

Reliance Communications has advanced 2.5% to Rs 712, and  NTPC has added 2% to Rs 259.

Bharti Airtel and Larsen & Toubro have moved up 1.5% each to Rs 845 and Rs 4,229, respectively. Reliance Energy is up 1% at Rs 1,836.

ICICI Bank and Wipro have dropped 2.7% each to Rs 1,116 and Rs 445, respectively.

HDFC Bank and Mahindra & Mahindra have shed nearly 2% each to Rs 1,448 and Rs 715, respectively.

ITC, Infosys and Tata Motors have declined around 1.5% each to Rs 175, Rs 1,615 and Rs 675, respectively.

Hindustan Unilever and SBI are down over 1% each at Rs 196 and Rs 2,212, respectively.
