The Sensex continued to move in a narrow band of 50-odd points, and is now down 10 points at 10,725. HLL has surged 3% to Rs 251. Cipla has gained 2.4% at Rs 575. NTPC (Rs 138), HDFC (Rs 1,354), Tata Power (Rs 584), Bajaj Auto (Rs 2,761), Bharti (Rs 409) and Larsen & Toubro (Rs 2,435) have gained over 1% each. Satyam and Infosys have slipped 1.6% each to Rs 789 and Rs 2,810, respectively. ICICI Bank has dropped 1.5% to Rs 604. ONGC, Wipro, Hindalco and Ranbaxy are down over 1% each at Rs 1,154, Rs 523, Rs 165 and Rs 443, respectively. The market breadth is slightly positive. Out of 2,124 stocks traded so far, 1,118 have moved up, 925 have dropped and the rest are unchanged. Reliance Natural Resources (RNRL) has zoomed over 14% to Rs 20.70. Reliance Communication Ventures (RCoVL) has soared nearly 8% to Rs 314. Nocil has surged nearly 12% to Rs 24.35. Kalpatru Power, Jyoti Structure, Morajee Real, Marico, Godrej Industries, LML, Bombay Dyeing, Escorts, Bongaigaon Refinery, JSW Steel, CESC, Colgate, Apollo Tyre and Century Textiles are the other significant gainers. VisualSoft has plunged over 6% to Rs 195. Goodricke, VST Industries, Paper Products, Rain Calcining, Sunil Hi-tech, Amara Raja, Tips, Container Corporation, Sun Pharma, National Aluminium, Indo Gulf and MTNL are on slippery ground. |
