Sensex down 11 pts, Dr. Reddy's drops 3%

The market displayed volatility in the opening bell. After resuming with a gain of five points at 6,486 and touching an early high of 6,493, selling pressure in select heavyweights, pharma and auto counters dragged the index to a low of 6,453.

The Sensex is now down 11 points at 6,470, while the Nifty has lost six points to 1,995.

ITC has declined a per cent (Rs 13) to Rs 1,471. ONGC and Reliance have also resumed at lower levels at Rs 848 (down Rs 4) and Rs 552 (down Rs 2), respectively. HLL is up a notch at Rs 133.

Dr. Reddy's has tumbled 3.43% (Rs 23) to Rs 657, and Cipla is marginally weak at Rs 274.

Hero Honda has lost 1.17% (Rs 6) to Rs 544, while Maruti is down a per cent (Rs 4) at Rs 436. Tata Motors, too, is trading a per cent lower (Rs 4) at Rs 433.

HDFC Bank is trading weaker by Rs 3 at Rs 537. Other banking stocks, too, have slipped in early trades.

While L&T has dipped 1.11% (Rs 11) to Rs 1,012, Zee is down 1.17% (Rs 2) at Rs 152.
