The Sensex, which bounced back into the green to touch a high of 6,901, has currently slipped back into the red. While select heavyweights have attracted buying support, weakness is seen in tech, auto, cement and other select old economy counters. The Sensex is now down 11 points at 6,882, while the Nifty is down a point at 2,160. Infosys has lost 1.27% (Rs 29) to Rs 2,222. While Satyam has dipped 1.12% (Rs 5) to Rs 414, Wipro is down 1.16% (Rs 8) at Rs 706. Bharti has shed 1.63% (Rs 4) to Rs 226. Reliance has moved up a per cent (Rs 6) to Rs 594. While ITC is up Rs 2 at Rs 1,374 after early weakness, HLL is down a rupee at Rs 143. ONGC, after a weak opening, has surged 2% (Rs 18) to Rs 931. SBI and HDFC Bank are marginally up at Rs 722 and Rs 621, respectively. ICICI Bank is trading weaker by a per cent (Rs 2) at Rs 388. Hindalco has clocked a per cent gain (Rs 11) to Rs 1,445. Auto, cement and pharma stocks are exhibiting weak trends. |
