Sensex down 110pts; HDFC, TCS slip 2%

The Sensex is now down 110 points at 18,005.

The NSE Nifty is down 42 points at 5,261.

Tata Motors has tumbled 3% to Rs 729. BHEL and SBI have shed 2.3% each at Rs 2,210 and Rs 2,245, respectively.

HDFC, ONGC, TCS and DLF have dropped 2% each to Rs 2,861, Rs 1,012, Rs 854 and Rs 861, respectively.

Satyam and Wipro have slipped nearly 2% each to Rs 430 and Rs 413, respectively.

Grasim has declined 1.5% to Rs 2,770. HDFC Bank, Maruti and Reliance are down 1.3% each at Rs 1,543, Rs 802 and Rs 2,559, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra has moved up 1.5% to Rs 628, and ICICI Bank has added 1% to Rs 1,204.

Out of 2,687 stocks traded so far, 1,677 have advanced, 952 have declined and 58 are unchanged.
