The NSE Nifty is down 25 points at 5,087.
Cipla has plunged over 4% to Rs 215. Tata Steel has shed 3.3% at Rs 776, and ICICI Bank has dropped 2.4% to Rs 894.
Wipro, ACC and Maruti have slipped around 2% each to Rs 456, Rs 767 and Rs 723, respectively.
Hindalco and Infosys have declined 1.5% each to Rs 186 and Rs 1,661, respectively.
Reliance and SBI are down over 1% each at Rs 2,592 and Rs 1,733, respectively.
Reliance Energy has surged 4.3% to Rs 1,418. HDFC Bank and Reliance Communications have advanced over 1.5% each to Rs 1,521 and Rs 586, respectively.
Jaiprakash Associates has gained 1.5% at Rs 249, and HDFC is up over 1% at Rs 2,725.
Out of 2,712 stocks traded so far, 1,329 have advanced, 1,311 have declined and 72 are unchanged.
