Sensex down 11pts; Rel Energy, NTPC surge 3%

The Sensex is now down 11 points at 17,836.

HDFC has plunged 4% to Rs 2,490. ICICI Bank has sliped over 2% to Rs 1,065.

Wipro and HDFC Bank have dropped around 1.5% each to Rs 463 and Rs 1,402, respectively.

Infosys, ITC and TCS are down 1% each at Rs 1,980, Rs 185 and Rs 1,070, respectively.

Reliance Energy has soared 3.3% to Rs 1,498, and NTPC has surged 2.8% to Rs 223.

Ranbaxy and Tata Steel have rallied 1.7% each to Rs 446 and Rs 854, respectively.

Reliance and Maruti have advanced 1.5% each to Rs 2,430 and Rs 1,035, respectively.

SBI, Cipla and Larsen & Toubro are the other major gainers.
