Sensex down 121pts; Tata Steel surges 3%

The Sensex is now down 121 points at 14,798.

Infosys has dropped 2% to Rs 1,844. NTPC, Wipro and Reliance Communications have shed 1.8% each to Rs 164, Rs 459 and Rs 510, respectively.

HDFC has slipped 1.5% to Rs 1,952. Ranbaxy, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank have declined 1.3% each to Rs 362, Rs 851 and Rs 1,137, respectively.

Bharti Airtel, Grasim, Satyam, Larsen & Toubro, Mahindra & Mahindra, Reliance Energy, ACC and Hindustan Unilever are down over 1% each.

Tata Steel has surged 2.7% to Rs 622.
