The Sensex, after yesterday's heavy fall, opened 87 points lower at 14,788. The index slipped further to a low of 14,621 and is now trading at 14,748, down 126 points.
TCS has nosedived 51% to Rs 383.
Sterlite has slumped 5.5% to Rs 627. Bharti Airtel has dropped 3.5% to Rs 790. Tata Steel and HDFC have shed 3% each to Rs 420 and Rs 2,220, respectively.
Hindalco, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, DLF, Larsen & Toubro, BHEL and Jaiprakash Associates have slipped 2% each.
Maruti, Tata Motors, Reliance Communications, Grasim, Wipro, Infosys, Reliance and Mahindra & Mahindra have declined over 1% each.
However, Tata Power and SBI have gained around 1% each to Rs 1,158 and Rs 1,658, respectively.
