Sensex down 128pts; Ranbaxy soars 5%

The Sensex is now down 128 points at 15,704.

The NSE Nifty is down 18 points at 4,754.

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has tumbled 3.3% to Rs 2,755. BHEL has plunged 2.7% to Rs 1,707, and HDFC Bank have shed 2.5% at Rs 1,294.

Infosys and Maruti have slipped 2.3% each to Rs 1,488 and Rs 770, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Motors have declined 1.7% each to Rs 633 and Rs 619, respectively. HDFC is down 1.5% at Rs 2,405.

Ranbaxy has soared nearly 5% to Rs 469. Tata Steel has surged over 2% to Rs 674.

Hindustan Unilever is up 1% at Rs 246.
