Sensex down 135pts; JP Associates down 4%

The Sensex is now down 135 points at 15,622.

The NSE Nifty is down 38 points at 4,724.

Wipro and Larsen & Toubro have plunged nearly 5% each to Rs 413 and Rs 2,585, respectively.

Jaiprakash (JP) Associates has tumbled 4.4% to Rs 222. Grasim and Tata Steel have dropped 3% each to Rs 2,550 and Rs 659, respectively.

Hindalco and Hindustan Unilever have slipped around 2.5% each to Rs 169 and Rs 247, respectively.

ACC, Ranbaxy and NTPC have declined around 2% each to Rs 819, Rs 474 and Rs 187, respectively.

BHEL has surged 4.5% to Rs 1,710.

Out of 2,519 stocks traded so far, 1,235 have declined, 1,200 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
