Sensex down 136pts; metal stocks drop

The Sensex is now down 136 points at 10,157.

Metal major are under selling pressure. Hindalco and Tata Steel have shed nearly 4% each to Rs 161 and Rs 475, respectively.

Reliance has dropped 3% to Rs 1,000. Larsen & Toubro, BHEL and Gujarat Ambuja have slipped over 2.5% each to Rs 2,069, Rs 1,806 and Rs 102, respectively.

HDFC has declined 2.3% to Rs 1,057. ACC and ITC are down 2% eacg at Rs 804 and Rs 169, respectively.

Infosys has advanced 2% to Rs 1,637. Wipro and Satyam have gained over 1.5% each at Rs 485 and Rs 694, respectively.

ONGC is up over 1% at Rs 1,040.

Out of 2,344 stocks traded so far, 1,724 have declined, 554 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
