Sensex down 136pts; SBI soars 4%

The Sensex is now down 136 points at 19,588.

Bharti Airtel has slumped 6.8% to Rs 879.

ACC and HDFC have plunged around 3% each to Rs 1,019 and Rs 2,620, respectively. Wipro has shed 2.7% at Rs 486.

Reliance Energy and Hindalco have dropped over 2% each to Rs 1,730 and Rs 184, respectively.

ICICI Bank has shed 1.7% at Rs 1,277. Reliance Communications and Larsen & Toubro have slipped 1.4% each to Rs 779 and Rs 4,365, respectively.

SBI has soared 3.5% to Rs 2,144. ITC, ONGC and HDFC Bank have rallied around 2% each to Rs 176, Rs 1,356 and Rs 1,708, respectively.

Grasim, Infosys and Maruti are up 1% each at Rs 3,705, Rs 1,888 and Rs 1,013, respectively.

Out of 2,736 stocks traded so far, 1,524 have declined, 1,143 have advanced and 69 are unchanged.
