Sensex down 138pts; HDFC drops 3%

The Sensex is now down 138 points at 19,586.

Bharti Airtel has slumped over 6% to Rs 884. HDFC has plunged 3% to Rs 2,617.

ACC and ICICI Bank have shed 2.6% each to Rs 1,025 and Rs 1,265, respectively.

Wipro and Hindalco have dropped 2.3% each to Rs 487 and Rs 184, respectively.

Reliance Energy has slipped 1.7% to Rs 1,738. BHEL has declined 1.5% to Rs 2,620.

Ranbaxy, Mahindra & Mahindra, ONGC and Cipla are down 1.3% each to Rs 430, Rs 755, Rs 1,313 and Rs 174, respectively.

ITC has surged 2.4% to Rs 176. SBI has rallied 1.8% to Rs 2,107.

Out of 2,100 stocks traded so far, 1,173 have declined, 890 have advanced and 37 are unchanged.

Out of 2,459 stocks traded so far, 1,381 have declined, 1,006 have advanced and 72 are unchanged.
