Mirroring weak trend in the global markets, the Sensex opened with a negative gap of 182 points at 15,030.The index is now down 139 points at 15,073.
The NSE Nifty is down 35 points at 4,517.
ICICI Bank has plunged 3.7% to Rs 711. DLF and HDFC Bank have dropped 2% each to Rs 556 and Rs 1,238, respectively.
ONGC has slipped nearly 2% to Rs 1,068. HDFC, Jaiprakash Associates and Mahindra & Mahindra have declined 1.7% each to Rs 2,424, Rs 185 and Rs 585, respectively.
Sterlite has surged 2.3% to Rs 611. Tata Steel has added 1.6% to Rs 618.
