Sensex down 142pts

The Sensex opened with a negative gap of 92 points at 9665. Early morning weakness saw the index tumble to a low of 9561 - down 196 points.

The index is now down 142 points at 9615.

Hero Honda and Grasim have slipped over 3% each to Rs 715 and Rs 1,590, respectively.

Dr.Reddy's and Ranbaxy are down 2.5% each at Rs 1,235 and Rs 356, respectively.
