Sensex down 143pts in early trades

The Sensex opened with a negative gap of 122 points at 19,511. The index is now down 143 points at 19,491.

HDFC Bank has slipped 1.5% to Rs 1,631.

ICICI Bank, Wipro and HDFC have shed 1.3% each at Rs 1,171, Rs 451 and Rs 2,660, respectively.

Maruti and Hindalco are down 1% each at Rs 1,044 and Rs 204, respectively.

ACC has moved up 1.3% to Rs 1,098.

Cipla and Ambuja Cements are up 1% each at Rs 189 and Rs 149, respectively.
