Sensex down 144pts; ACC, Guj Amb tumble 6%

The Sensex is now down 144 points at 14,065.

Gujarat Ambuja and ACC have plunged around 6% each to Rs 138 and Rs 1,051, respectively. Grasim has shed 3.6% to Rs 2,790.

Dr.Reddy's has tumbled 4.5% to Rs 773. SBI has shed 4.3% to Rs 1,171.

HDFC Bank has declined 2.4% to Rs 1,031. Maruti, ICICI Bank, Tata Motors and HLL have dropped around 1.5% each at Rs 923, Rs 961, Rs 949 and Rs 221, respectively.

Bharti Airtel has rallied over 2% to Rs 691.

Out of 2,640 stocks traded so far, 1,709 have declined, 880 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
