Following yesterday's 250-pt fall, the Sensex this morning opened with a negative gap of 94 points at 8,104. Negative global cues and FII selling continue to weigh on the market sentiment. The index is now down 144 points at 8,054.
ICICI Bank has slumped 5% to Rs 256. Ranbaxy has shed 3.6% at Rs 139.
ITC has tumbled 3% to Rs 163. HDFC Bank has dropped 2.7% to Rs 779, and Reliance has slipped 2.5% to Rs 1,121.
DLF, SBI and NTPC have declined around 2% each to Rs 144, Rs 916 and Rs 170, respectively.
Bharti Airtel and Reliance Infrastructure are down nearly 2% each to Rs 578 and Rs 435, respectively.
TCS, however, has gained 1% at Rs 468.
