Sensex down 145pts, L&T drops 4%

The Sensex tumbled a low of 10,193 - down 404 points from the day's high of 10,597. The index is now down 145 points at 10,254.

Bharti Airtel has plunged 6% to Rs 344. Larsen & Toubro has shed 4% to Rs 2,225.

HLL, Bajaj Auto, Maruti and Tata Motors have declined over 3% eacg to Rs 226, Rs 2,652, Rs 711 and Rs 766, respectively.

Reliance has dropped 2.5% to Rs 929.

Out of 2,402 stocks traded so far, 1,699 have declined, 647 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
