Sensex down 148pts; HDFC Bank slips 3%

 TCS and HDFC have shed 2.6% each to Rs 988 and Rs 1,439, respectively. Hero Honda and NTPC are down 2.3% each at Rs 754 and Rs 130, respectively. Satyam has slipped over 2% to Rs 805.

Wipro, Maruti and SBI have declined nearly 2% each to Rs 510, Rs 950, and Rs 1,014, respectively.

Bajaj Auto has rallied 2% to Rs 3,093, and Tata Motors has spurted over 1% to Rs 880.

Out of 2,518 stocks traded so far, 1,431 have declined, 1,015 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
