Sensex down 149pts, BPCL zooms 4%

The Sensex has dropped 149 points (1.7%) to 8,575.

ONGC has declined 3.5% (Rs 38) to Rs 1,034. Reliance has lost 1.3% (Rs 10) to Rs 792. SBI is down Rs 15 at Rs 932.

HLL has slipped over 3% (Rs 5) to Rs 175. ITC is down 2% at Rs 129.

ICICI Bank is down 3.3% (Rs 18) to Rs 543.

Bajaj has declined over 3% (Rs 55) to Rs 1,727.

BPCL has advanced over 4% (Rs 17) to Rs 429. Indian Oil is up over 3% at Rs 466. Kochi Refineries, HPCL and IBP are also trading with gains.

Advances are ahead of declines - out of 2,437 scrips traded till now, 1,882 have declined, 509 have advanced and 46 are unchanged.
