Sensex down 14pts; HDFC moves up 3%

The Sensex is now down 14 points at 16,203.

The NSE Nifty is down 10 points at 4,868.

Hindustan Unilever has slumped 4% to Rs 235. Bharti Airtel has plunged 3.7% to Rs 803.

ICICI Bank and Jaiprakash Associates have dropped around 3.5% each to Rs 849 and Rs 225, respectively. DLF has shed 2.7% at Rs 661.

BHEL has slipped nearly 2% to Rs 1,975. Ambuja Cements and Cipla have declined around 1.5% each to Rs 123 and Rs 207, respectively.

Reliance Communications is down over 1% at Rs 532.

Tata Steel has surged 4.6% to Rs 663. HDFC has rallied 2.8% to Rs 2,662.

ITC has gained 2% at Rs 195. HDFC Bank has advanced 1.6% to Rs 1,441, and Wipro has added 1% to Rs 439.

Out of 2,734 stocks traded so far, 1,760 have advanced, 913 have declined and 61 are unchanged.
