Sensex down 14pts; market breadth negative

The Sensex is now down 14 points at 11,959.

Bharti Airtel has surged nearly 2% to Rs 447. HDFC Bank has advanced 1.5% to Rs 877, and Hero Honda has slipped 1.3% to Rs 776.

Grasim is down 1% at Rs 2,416.

Hindalco has slipped 1.5% to Rs 169. Bajaj Auto, Reliance Communications and Infosys have dropped 1.3% each to Rs 2,788, Rs 320 and Rs 1,807, respectively.

ICICI Bank and Tata Steel are down 1% each at Rs 643 and Rs 503, respectively.

Out of 2,362 stocks traded so far, 1,389 have declined, 909 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
