Sensex down 150pts; Reliance advances 2%

The Sensex is now down 146 points at 9,499.

Wipro and Tata Motors have slumped 5.6% each to Rs 236 and Rs 152, respectively. TCS has tumbled over 5% to Rs 481.

Grasim, Infosys, Sterlite and ONGC have plunged around 3.5% each to Rs 1,044, Rs 1,097, Rs 285 and Rs 643, respectively.

Tata Steel, Satyam and Jaiprakash Assocaites have shed around 3% each at Rs 211, Rs 218 and Rs 80, respectively.

Maruti and Bharti Airtel have slipped 2.8% each to Rs 496 and Rs 722, respectively.

NTPC and Mahindra & Mahindra have dropped 2.3% each to Rs 163 and Rs 280, respectively.

 

ICICI Bank, BHEL and SBI have declined over 2% each to Rs 397, Rs 1,344 and Rs 1,174, respectively.

Reliance has rebounded into the positive zone and moved up 1.7% to Rs 1,281.

Tata Power has gained 1.5% at Rs 742, and HDFC is up 1% at Rs 1,622.

The market breadth is marginally positive - out of 2,241 stocks traded so far, 1,192 have advanced, 962 have declined and 87 are unchanged.
