Wipro, Hindalco and Satyam have slipped around 2% each to Rs 601, Rs 143 and Rs 453, respectively.
SBI, HLL, Larsen & Toubro, Cipla, Reliance Energy, Bharti Airtel and Infosys are the other major losers.
Out of 2,488 stocks traded so far, 1,348 have advanced, 1,065 have declined and 75 are unchanged.
