Sensex down 161pts; BHEL, DLF are up

The Sensex is now down 161 points at 15,596.

The NSE Nifty is down 50 points at 4,711.

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has plunged 4% to Rs 2,610. Wipro and Jaiprakash Associates have tumbled 3.5% each to Rs 419 and Rs 224, respectively.

Grasim has dropped 3% to Rs 2,550. Infosys, TCS and NTPC have slipped nearly 2% each to Rs 1,464, Rs 883 and Rs 187, respectively.

Maruti, Hindustan Unilever and Tata Steel have also dropped nearly 2% each to Rs 745, Rs 249 and Rs 668, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra, Bharti Airtel and ITC are down around 1.5% each at Rs 604, Rs 806 and Rs 207, respectively.

DLF and BHEL have moved up around 1.5% each to Rs 627 and Rs 1,658, respectively.
