Sensex down 169pts; Cipla slumps 15%

The Sensex is now down 169 points at 14,060.

Cipla has slumped 14.5% to Rs 217. ICICI Bank and HDFC have plunged 2.7% each to Rs 937 and Rs 1,690, respectively.

ONGC, Reliance and Tata Steel have shed 2% each to Rs 941, Rs 1,566 and Rs 550, respectively. SBI has slipped 1.7% to Rs 1,126.

Bharti Airtel and HLL have dropped 1.5% each to Rs 849 and Rs 212, respectively.

HDFC Bank, ACC, Grasim, Hero Honda, Gujarat Ambuja, TCS and BHEL have declined over 1% each.

Bajaj Auto and Satyam have advanced over 1% each to Rs 2,520 and Rs 465, respectively.

Out of 2,139 stocks traded so far, 1,358 have declined, 724 have advanced and 57 are unchanged.
