Sensex down 16pts

The Sensex is now down 16 points at 11,957.

HDFC Bank and Bharti Airtel have advanced over 1.5% each to Rs 878 and Rs 445, respectively.

Hero Honda and Satyam have jumped 1.3 % each to Rs 775 and Rs 820, respectively.

Grasim is up 1% at Rs 2,417.

Hindalco and Infosys have slipped over 1% each to Rs 170 and Rs 1,810, respectively.

ICICI Bank, Reliance Communications, Bajaj Auto and Tata Steel are the other significant losers.

Out of 2,411 stocks traded so far, 1,376 have declined, 967 have advanced and 68 are unchanged.
