Sensex down 177pts; Bajaj Auto up 2%

The Sensex is now down 177 points at 19,522.

HDFC Bank and DLF have dropped 2.3% each to Rs 1,609 and Rs 1,061, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro has slipped nearly 2% to Rs 4,004. Reliance, Cipla and BHEL have shed 1.7% each at Rs 2,945, Rs 205 and Rs 2,309, respectively.

HDFC and Wipro have declined 1.5% each to Rs 2,805 and Rs 453, respectively.

Maruti, Satyam and Hindalco are down over 1% each at Rs 857, Rs 368 and Rs 189, respectively.

Bajaj Auto has moved up 1.7% to Rs 2,483. Ambuja Cements and Reliance Energy have advanced 1.5% each to Rs 133 and Rs 2,245, respectively.

Ranbaxy has added 1.3% to Rs 373. Grasim and ACC are up 1% each at Rs 3,340 and Rs 869, respectively.

The market breadth is fairly negative - out of 2,691 stocks traded so far, 1,663 have declined, 981 have advanced and 47 are unchanged.
