Sensex down 177pts; breadth marginally +ve

The Sensex has recovered partially from the day's low of 10,300, and is now down 177 points at 10,454.

TCS has zoomed 6.5% to Rs 542. Jaiprakash Associates has soared 3.5% to Rs 93.

Ranbaxy and Satyam have surged around 3% each to Rs 216 and Rs 286, respectively.

Wipro has rallied 2.5% to Rs 270. HDFC Bank and Infosys have gained 2% each at Rs 1,134 and Rs 1,360, respectively.

Maruti and ICICI Bank are up 1.5% each at Rs 624 and Rs 465, respectively.

Reliance has slumped nearly 9.5% to Rs 1,316. Grasim has plunged over 7% to Rs 1,050.

 

Reliance Communications and Tata Steel have tumbled over 6% each to Rs 235 and Rs 225, respectively.

ACC has shed 5.7% at Rs 478. HDFC has dropped 4.7% to Rs 1,827.

Tata Motors and Bharti Airtel have slipped around 3.5% each to Rs 187 and Rs 694, respectively.

DLF has declined over 3% to Rs 281. Larsen & Toubro and SBI are down around 2% each to Rs 902 and Rs 1,295, respectively.

The market breadth is marginally positive - out of 2,471 stocks traded so far, 1,218 have advanced, 1,170 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
