Sensex down 178pts; Dr.Reddy's, Ranbaxy gain

The Sensex is now down 178 points at 13,682.

Satyam and Maruti have dropped around 3.5% each to Rs 484 and Rs 905, respectively. TCS has plunged nearly 3% to Rs 1,226.

Wipro, Infosys and Tata Motors have shed around 2.5% each to Rs 583, Rs 2,215 and Rs 910, respectively.

Bajaj Auto, Reliance Communications, HLL and Hindalco have declined around 2% each to Rs 2,725, Rs 438, Rs 208 and Rs 168, respectively.

ONGC has gained 1.7% at Rs 911. Ranbaxy and Dr.Reddy's have moved up nearly 1% each to Rs 417 and Rs 816, respectively.

Out of 2,652 stocks traded so far, 1,693 have advanced, 917 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
