Sensex down 181pts; ONGC gains 2%

The Sensex is now down 181 points at 12,944.

TCS has tumbled nearly 5% to Rs 1,200. Satyam and Wipro have plunged over 4% each to Rs 452 and Rs 562, respectively.

Tata Motors has shed 3.8% to Rs 726. HDFC has slipped over 3% to Rs 1,525, and Infosys has dropped 2.7% to Rs 2,001.

Hindalco, ICICI Bank, SBI and Bharti Airtel are down over 2% each to Rs 130, Rs 856, Rs 991 and Rs 760, respectively.

Ranbaxy has surged 3% to Rs 338, and Dr.Reddy's has rallied 2% to Rs 695. ONGC has moved up 1.7% to Rs 868.

BHEL, HLL and Tata Steel are up 1% each at Rs 2,278, Rs 200 and Rs 446, respectively.

Out of 2,562 stocks traded so far, 1,865 have declined, 639 have advanced and 58 are unchanged.
