Sensex down 182pts; Ranbaxy gains 2%

The Sensex is now down 182 points at 12,942.

Wipro has tumbled 4% to Rs 562. TCS and Satyam have plunged 3.7% each to Rs 1,215 and Rs 455, respectively.

Tata Motors, HDFC and Maruti have dropped 2.8% each to Rs 732, Rs 1,529 and Rs 797, respectively.

Hero Honda and Bharti Airtel have slipped around 2.5% each to Rs 651 and Rs 757, respectively.

Infosys and ICICI Bank are down over 2% each to Rs 2,012 and Rs 859, respectively.

Ranbaxy has advanced over 2% to Rs 335. Tata Steel has moved up 1.4% to Rs 448.

BHEL and Dr.Reddy's have added 1.3% each to Rs 2,283 and Rs 690, respectively.

Out of 2,415 stocks traded so far, 1,679 have declined, 675 have advanced and 61 are unchanged.
