Sensex down 184pts; Bharti moves up

The Sensex is now down 184 points at 15,573.

The NSE Nifty is down 54 points at 4,707.

Larsen & Toubro has slumped 4.8% to Rs 2,590. Wipro and Jaiprakash (JP) Associates has plunged around 4.5% each to Rs 415 and Rs 222, respectively.

Tata Steel has tumbled over 3% to Rs 657. Grasim and Ranbaxy have shed 2.5% each at Rs 2,560 and Rs 472, respectively.

BHEL has surged over 5% to Rs 1,720. Bharti Airtel has advanced 1.5% to Rs 831.

Out of 2,618 stocks traded so far, 1,337 have advanced, 1,211 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
