Sensex down 184pts; Dr.Reddy's, Ranbaxy surge

The Sensex is now down 184 points at 12,940.

TCS, Wipro and Satyam have tumbled around 4% each to Rs 1,206, Rs 563 and Rs 454, respectively.

HDFC has plunged over 3% Rs 1,525. Tata Motors has shed 2.7% to Rs 733.

Infosys, Bharti Airtel, Hero Honda, Reliance Communications and ICICI Bank have slipped over 2% each to Rs 2,010, Rs 758, Rs 653, Rs 418 and Rs 858, respectively.

Dr.Reddy's has rallied 3.3% to Rs 704, and Ranbaxy has surged 2.6% to Rs 337.

BHEL and ONGC have gained 1.7% each at Rs 2,295 and Rs 868, respectively. Tata Steel has added 1% to Rs 447.

Out of 2,499 stocks traded so far, 1,772 have declined, 656 have advanced and 71 are unchanged.
