Sensex down 187pts; BHEL surges 4%

The Sensex is now down 187 points at 15,570.

The NSE Nifty is down 62 points at 4,700.

Wipro and Larsen & Toubro have plunged 4% each to Rs 416 and Rs 2,610, respectively.

Grasim and Jaiprakash Associates have tumbled around 3% each to Rs 2,545 and Rs 225, respectively.

Hindustan Unilever has shed 2.5% at Rs 247, and TCS have slipped over 2% to Rs 880.

ACC, NTPC and Tata Steel have dropped nearly 2% each to Rs 820, Rs 187 and Rs 667, respectively.

Ranbaxy, Satyam and Infosys have slipped over 1.5% each to Rs 476, Rs 426 and Rs 1,470, respectively.

Reliance, ONGC, Hindalco and Bharti Airtel have also declined around 1.5% each to Rs 2,370, Rs 1,003, Rs 171 and Rs 807, respectively.

BHEL has surged over 4% to Rs 1,704.

Out of 2,415 stocks traded so far, 1,212 have advanced, 1,140 have declined and 63 are unchanged.
