Sensex down 188pts; Dr.Reddy's, Ranbaxy gain

The Sensex is now down 188 points at 12,936.

HDFC and Wipro have tumbled around 3.5% each to Rs 1,518 and Rs 565, respectively. Satyam has plunged over 3% to Rs 457.

Tata Motors and Hero Honda have dropped around 2.5% each to Rs Rs 735 and Rs 652, respectively. ICICI Bank has shed 2.3% to Rs 856.

Infosys and TCS have slipped 2% each to Rs 2,015 and Rs 1,237, respectively.

Hindalco, Maruti, Larsen & Toubro, ONGC, HDFC Bank, Reliance Energy, SBI and Bharti Airtel are the other major losers.

Ranbaxy has moved up 1.8% to Rs 334, and Dr.Reddy's has added 1.3% to Rs 690.

BHEL and Tata Steel are up over 1% each at Rs 2,281 and Rs 447, respectively.

Out of 2,212 stocks traded so far, 1,566 have declined, 583 have advanced and 63 are unchanged.
