Sensex down 18pts; Bharti, Tata Motors shine

The Sensex has recovered majority of its lost ground, but is still down 18 points at 10,609.

Tata Motors has rallied 3.7% to Rs 895. Bharti Tele has spurted 3.3% to Rs 410.

Reliance Energy has surged 2.7% to Rs 638. Tata Power has jumped 2.5% to Rs 549. Maruti and ACC have gained over 2% each at Rs 924 and Rs 686, respectively.

Dr.Reddy's and BHEL are up 1% each at Rs 1,325 and Rs 2,132, respectively.

HDFC has dropped 2.7% to Rs 1,319. Hero Honda has slipped over 2% to Rs 879.

TCS, ITC and ICICI Bank have declined 1.5% each at Rs 1,716, Rs 174 and Rs 611, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro is down 1.3% at Rs 2,443.

The marked breadth continues to remain negative. Out of 2,564 stocks traded so far, 1,502 have declined, 992 have advanced and 70 are unchanged.

Maruti tops the value chart with a turnover of Rs 193.34 crore followed by Titan (Rs 159.57 crore), Tata Motors (Rs 112 crore), Educomp Solutions (Rs 89.99 crore) and Reliance (Rs 87.93 crore).

Reliance Natural Resources leads the volume chart with trades of around 62.22 lakh shares followed by Amar Remedies (28.83 lakh), Sunil Hi-Tech (27.82 lakh), Sadbhav (25.11 lakh) and Reliance Capital Ventures (24.68 lakh).
