Sensex down 190pts: Reliance Infra slips 4.5%

The Sensex is now at 11,182, down 190 points. Earlier in the day, the index opened flat at 11,371. It touched a high of 11,376 and then slipped to a low of 11,160.

Reliance Infrastructure has slipped 4.5% to Rs 678. Sterlite and Tata Steel have declined over 3.5% each to Rs 400 and Rs 235, respectively. HDFC has shed 3.4% to Rs 1,742.

ICICI Bank, ITC and Tata Power have dropped 3% each at Rs 453,Rs 187 and Rs 839, respectively.

Reliance Communications and Tata Motors are down 2.7% each at Rs 217 and Rs 242, respectively.

Hindustan Unilever and Wipro have shed 2.5% each at Rs 225 and Rs 317, respectively. ACC is down 2% to Rs 646.

On the other hand, Mahindra& Mahindra has advanced 3% to Rs 490.

Jaiprakash Associates is up 2% at Rs 133. Maruti Suzuki has increased over 1% to Rs 819.

The market breadth is so far negative - out of 2,305 stocks traded,1,503 have declined and 726 have advanced.
