Sensex down 190pts; Tata Motors, BHEL are top losers

Mirroring negative cues from the other Asian markets, the Sensex opened with a negative gap of 93 at 14,852. The index has slipped deeper into red and is now down 190 points at 14,754.

Tata Motors has tumbled 4% to Rs 419. BHEL has plunged 2.7% to Rs 1,742.

Sterlite and ICICI Bank have shed 2.5% each at Rs 606 and Rs 703, respectively.

Tata Power, SBI and DLF have slipped over 2% each to Rs 1,077, Rs 1,558 and Rs 501, respectively.

Reliance, HDFC and Ranbaxy have also dropped 2% each to Rs 2,088, Rs 2,328 and Rs 455, respectively.

 

Mahindra & Mahindra and Jaiprakash Associates have declined 1.8% each to Rs 580 and Rs 170, respectively.

TCS, Maruti, NTPC, Reliance Infrastructure, Tata Steel and Larsen & Toubro are down around 1.5% each.
