Sensex down 191pts; Hind Unilever sheds 5%

The Sensex is now down 191 points at 16,027.

The NSE Nifty is down 63 points at 4,814.

Hindustan Unilever has slumped nearly 5% to Rs 233. ICICI Bank and Bharti Airtel have plunged 4% each to Rs 845 and Rs 803, respectively.

Jaiprakash Associates has shed 3.5% at Rs 225. DLF and BHEL have dropped 2.3% each to Rs 663 and Rs 1,968, respectively.

Ambuja Cements, Reliance Communications and Tata Motors have slipped 1.7% each to Rs 123, Rs 530 and Rs 669, respectively.

HDFC has surged 2% to Rs 2,640. HDFC Bank has advanced 1.5% to Rs 1,440.

Tata Steel, ITC and ONGC are up over 1% each at Rs 641, Rs 193 and Rs 1,087, respectively.

Out of 2,691 stocks traded so far, 1,613 have advanced, 1,008 have declined and 70 are unchanged.
