The Sensex opened with a negative gap of 52 points at 10,521. The index soon tumbled to a low of 10,275 - down 298 points from the previous close. The index is now down 192 points at 10,381. Reliance Energy have tumbled 5.8% to Rs 501, and BHEL has shed 4.7% to Rs 1,880. Tata Motors and Bharti Tele have plunged 3.5% each to Rs 748 and Rs 357, respectively. HDFC, Dr.Reddy's and Tata Power have declined over 3% each to Rs 1,147, Rs 1,372 and Rs 513, respectively. The market breadth is extremely negative - out of 1,833 stocks traded so far, 1,459 have declined, 339 have advanced and 35 are unchanged. |
