Sensex down 193pts; Grasim drops 7%

The Sensex is now down 193 points at 12,857.

Grasim has crashed 6.7% to Rs 2,086. ACC has tumbled nearly 6% to Rs 785, and Gujarat Ambuja has shed 2.8% to Rs 110.

BHEL has plunged over 4% to Rs 2,086, and ITC has dropped 3.5% to Rs 154.

Cipla and Tata Motors have slipped 3% each to Rs 229 and Rs 748, respectively. Dr.Reddy's is down 2.8% to Rs 658.

Reliance Communications has declined 2.5% to Rs 423. Satyam, SBI, Hindalco and Bharti Airtel are down around 2% each.

NTPC has surged 2.7% to Rs 140.

Out of 2,370 stocks traded so far, 1,271 have declined, 1,038 have advanced and 61 are unchanged.
