Sensex down 197pts; market breadth turns -ve

The Sensex is now down 197 points at 10,626.

ONGC has dropped 4.5% to Rs 1,182. Tata Steel and HDFC have slipped 4% each to Rs 489 and Rs 1,193, respectively.

Hindalco, Maruti, Tata Power, Bajaj Auto, Reliance Energy, HLL and Reliance have declined 3-4% each.

Cipla has surged 3.4% to Rs 235. ACC and NTPC have gained around 3% each at Rs 776 and Rs 121, respectively.

Satyam and ICICI Bank have advanced nearly 2% each to Rs 698 and Rs 581, respectively. Dr.Reddy's has added 1% to Rs 1,435.

Cipla and ACC up 2.6% each at Rs 233 and Rs 771 are the major gainers among the Sensex stocks.

The market breadth has turned negative - out of 2,489 stocks traded so far, 1,297 have declined, 1,148 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
