The Sensex opened 60 points lower at 9,364, and slumped to 9,192. The index is now down 191 points at 9,233.
DLF has slumped 10% to Rs 160. HDFC and Sterlite have tumbled nearly 4% each to Rs 1,478 and Rs 266, respectively.
Jaiprakash Associates and Wipro have plunged around 3.5% each to Rs 74 and Rs 223, respectively.
Bharti Airtel and Tata Steel have slipped over 3% each to Rs 613 and Rs 179, respectively.
ONGC has shed 3% at Rs 639. Hindalco, Sun Pharma and SBI have dropped nearly 3% each to Rs 48, Rs 1,043 and Rs 1,120, respectively.
ICICI Bank, TCS and Reliance Communications have declined 2.7% each to Rs 405, Rs 498 and Rs 166, respectively.
Maruti, however, has advanced nearly 2% to Rs 582.
