Sensex down 205pts; Bajaj Auto zooms 7%

The Sensex is now down 205 points at 18,157.

The NSE Nifty is down 113 points at 5,270.

Wipro has slumped nearly 6% to Rs 404. Infosys and DLF have tumbled over 5% each to Rs 1,441 and Rs 897, respectively.

Bharti Airtel and Ranbaxy have plunged nearly 5% each to Rs 871 and Rs 350, respectively. NTPC has shed 4.2% at Rs 213.

SBI and BHEL have dropped around 3.5% each at Rs 2,317 and Rs 2,090, respectively.

Reliance Communications, TCS and Grasim have slipped over 3% each to Rs 646, Rs 854 and Rs 2,939, respectively.

Reliance, Tata Steel, Ambuja Cements and Satyam are down around 2% each at Rs 2,553, Rs 700, Rs 115 and Rs 399, respectively.

Bajaj Auto has soared 6.7% to Rs 2,415. Maruti and Reliance Energy have surged over 3.5% each to Rs 859 and Rs 2,105, respectively.

HDFC has advanced over 2% to Rs 2,774. ACC has moved up 1.4% to Rs 799.

Mahindra & Mahindra and ICICI Bank are up over 1% each at Rs 683 and Rs 1,275, respectively.

Out of 2,722 stocks traded so far, 1,922 have declined, 763 have advanced and 37 are unchanged.
