Sensex down 211pts; breadth extremely -ve

The Sensex is now down 211 points at 12,914.

Satyam has plunged 4% to Rs 454.

HDFC, Tata Motors and Wipro have tumbled around 2.5% each to Rs 1,534, Rs 735 and Rs 572, respectively.

Infosys, ICICI Bank, Hero Honda, ONGC and Hindalco have shed around 2% each to Rs 2,010, Rs 856, Rs 64, Rs 836 and Rs 131, respectively.

Bharti Airtel, HDFC Bank and SBI are the other major losers.

HDFC, HDFC Bank and Maruti have slipped around 1.5% each to Rs 1,550, Rs 962 and Rs 807, respectively.

Dr.Reddy's has advanced 1.4% to Rs 691, and BHEL has added 1% to Rs 2,278.

The market breadth is extremely negative - out of 1,958 stocks traded so far, 1,402 have declined, 506 have advanced and 50 are unchanged.
