Sensex down 213pts; ONGC surges 3%

The Sensex is now down 213 points at 19,511.

Bharti Airtel has tumbled over 6% to Rs 884.

Reliance Energy and ACC have plunged 3.3% to Rs 1,710 and Rs 1,018, respectively.

HDFC, Hindalco and Wipro have dropped 2.7% each to Rs 2,625, Rs 183 and Rs 486, respectively.

ICICI Bank and Ranbaxy have slipped over 2% each to Rs 1,269 and Rs 426, respectively.

Reliance Communications and Larsen & Toubro have declined 1.7% each to Rs 777 and Rs 4,355, respectively.

BHEL and Mahindra & Mahindra are down 1.5% each at Rs 2,623 and Rs 754, respectively.

Cipla, Bajaj Auto and Reliance are the other major losers.

ONGC has soared 3% to Rs 1,371. ITC has surged 2.4% to Rs 176.

HDFC Bank and SBI have rallied 2% each to Rs 1,710 and Rs 2,111, respectively.

Infosys, Grasim and Maruti are up over 1% each at Rs 1,895, Rs 3,706 and Rs 1,013, respectively.

Out of 2,676 stocks traded so far, 1,580 have declined, 1,033 have advanced and 63 are unchanged.
