Sensex down 214pts; breadth marginally -ve

The Sensex is now down 214 points at 19,510.

Bharti Airtel has slumped 5.7% to Rs 889. ICICI Bank has plunged 2.7% to Rs 1,264, and HDFC has shed 2.5% at Rs 2,630.

Wipro and ACC have slipped around 2% each to Rs 488 and Rs 1,033, respectively.

Hindalco, BHEL and ONGC have dropped around 1.5% each to Rs 185, Rs 2,618 and Rs 1,310, respectively.

Maruti and Mahindra & Mahindra have declined 1.3% each to Rs 990 and Rs 755, respectively.

ITC has surged 2.5% to Rs 176. HDFC Bank has advanced over 1% to Rs 1,694.

Out of 2,100 stocks traded so far, 1,173 have declined, 890 have advanced and 37 are unchanged.

The market breadth is marginally negative - out of 2,388 stocks traded so far, 1,244 have declined, 1,080 have advanced and 64 are unchanged.
